KABC'S 2014 ANNUAL MEETING & EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATION

Please join us for the KABC Annual Meeting & Educational Presentation on Friday, September 12 from 1:00 to 3:30 pm at the Douglas County VNA, 200 Maine St., Lawrence KS (upstairs).

Caring for an adult with dementia or Alzheimer's Disease can be challenging, and few of us have little, if any preparation. If you want to know more about the impact of medications or about best care approaches which can improve life for a person with dementia, then please join your friends at KABC for this helpful presentation. Bring your questions to our panel of competent professionals.

Tammy Willits, RPH QualiCare Pharmacy
will share her extensive knowledge of antipsychotic drugs and their impact on older individuals.

Linda Farrar, RN, BSN, LNHA
will share current standards and model approaches in better care for persons with dementia.

SANDY PRAEGER, KANSAS INSURANCE COMMISSIONER TO RECEIVE THE
2014 KABC CARING AWARD

Sandy PraegerKansas Advocates for Better Care (KABC) has announced that it will honor Sandy Praeger, Kansas Insurance Commissioner, with the KABC Caring Award. KABC, a statewide non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for good quality long-term care, annually honors an individual who has demonstrated advocacy and commitment which significantly improves the quality of care and life of older Kansans needing long-term care services.

The KABC Caring Award will be presented to Praeger on October 26, 2014 during the organizationís annual Stand By Me benefit event in Lawrence.
