KABC Annual Caregiver Training & Caring Award Presentation

steve-howeKansas Advocates for Better Care (KABC) will recognize Steve Howe, Johnson County District Attorney as recipient of the 2017 KABC Caring Award. Howe, a native Kansan, has served as District Attorney since his election in 2008.

The KABC Caring Award is the organization’s highest recognition and is awarded annually to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership, innovation, advocacy and commitment to improving the lives of older Kansans needing long term care and support. The award will be presented during KABC’s annual meeting and caregiver training on September 15th.

“Steve exemplifies the qualities that we look for when choosing a Caring Award recipient,” said Linda Carlsen, KABC president. “We are pleased to recognize Steve’s leadership in pursuing justice for older adults victimized by abuse, neglect and financial exploitation, and for his advocacy for an effective, multi-disciplinary approach to interventions for elders. He has implemented innovations in investigation, exhibited dedication to prosecutions and advocated for new laws to better protect elder crime victims.”
